DIVE-S80 Club Dive Training Days 2022

A DIVE S80 Instructor or Dive Master will be available at each of the following Dive Training Days for help and support, guided dives and additional refresher training.

These Dive Training Days are dependant on a minimum of 4 divers in addition to the Lead Diver.

Entry requirements to the Dive Site.

8 Acres requires online registration/account then a place can be booked in advance online. Alternatively Dive S80 can book collectively for members/students as a group.

Stoney Cove currently require that you hold a Stoney Cove Diver log membership and then book online for the days entry. Diver log registration cost £40 valid for 2 years or £20 for one year. Diver log holders dive day rate is £20. Stoney Cove requires online booking only.

If you do not have a Diver log, the dive day rate is £27.

Capernwray requires that you hold a Capernwray diving membership @ £30 valid for 2 year and online booking for weekends only. Week days pay on entry. Membership holders day rate is £16.

if you do not have a Capernwray membership, the days diving rate is £25 at the gate on the day or £21 booked online in advance.

Scuba Diver Training

As we go into the winter month it is an ideal time to start to learn to Scuba Dive. Dive S80 Scuba Diver Training can now offer the new Junior Discover scuba Diving, Bubblemaker, Padi Seal Team, Padi Scuba Diver and PADI Open water course with monthly training through till spring/summer 2024, with home learning at your own speed with the confined water training in the warmth of an indoor swimming pool ready to complete the qualifying dive in April, May and June 2024 ready for your summer holidays or to Ocean Dive with Dive S80 on a Scuba Club Trip.

Dive S80 is now taking bookings for Junior courses with PADI BUBBLE MAKER and PADI SEAL TEAM for those aged 8 years plus. DIVE S80 Provides all the Scuba Equipment required for the sessions and you'll be taught in the safety of a swimming pool by one off our expert PADI Instructors.

DIVE S80 Scuba Diver Training are diving with Swanage Boat Services with Skipper Brian. we plan to dive a 2 dive charters on the Hard boat Viper for both Days. There is the possibility of an additional 3rd dive each day at an additional cost [should you wish to do an extra dive] to be discussed with the skipper on the day

HMS Carantan - 1943

She was a 407 ton French Submarine Chaser. She was commissioned by the Royal Navy at the fall of France on 08/07/1940, but in December 1942 was taken over by the Free French. She sank during a force 9 SW gale having capsized. 6 of the 23 crew were saved. 116ft x 18ft. The wreck is considered dangerous since there are 20 depth charges remaining, as well as smoke canisters plus 75mm. & 40mm. ammunition in boxes and ready-use lockers. Armed with 75mm field gun, one 2-pounder, two 20mm Oerlikons, four machine guns and depth chargers. One large gun has been removed from the wreck in 1989.

lies on port side on rock and slate bed. hull has twisted in the middle. Parts of the superstructure remain.

A diving team from HMS VERNON were requested to remove the hazardous armament but a report in 1990 still indicated that there were explosive mortars and depth charges around the stern.

The Betsey Anna - 1926 She was a 808 ton Collier, built in 1892. She sank in August 1926 when she ran into fog off of Devon and hit the rocks at Prawle Point. She was sold by her owners to salvagers who blocked up the holes in her hull and floated her off at high tide. On October 11th she was towed towards Cowes on the Isle of Wight in order to be fully repaired, but sank when gale force winds snapped her towline.

The SS Kyarra She was a 4353 ton steel cargo and passenger luxury liner, built in Scotland in 1903 for the Australian United Steam Navigation Company. On 26 May 1918, Kyarra was sailing to Devonport to embark civilian passengers and take on full general cargo, She was sunk by UB-57 near Swanage with the loss of six lives. Kyarra wreck lies one mile off Anvil Point [1.5 miles from Swanage Pier]. She is 415ft long with a beam of 52ft at a depth of 30m rising to 18m in some places.

You will all need 2 Cyclinders for the Boat which can be HIRED from DIVE S80 Scuba Diver Training. All proceeds from the HIRE goes to keeping them in service and fully tested for use of all Dive S80 Scuba Diver Training Members.

For those wishing to do additional diving, Swanage Pier is a good easy Dive with max depth 6m at high tide. it can be Dived regardless of Tide point. Air Fills are available from Divers Down on the Pier.

Capernwray Dive weekend.

Regarded as the finest Inland Diving Sites in the UK. Caperwray is located on the North West Coast at Jackdaw Quarry, Capernwray Road, Carnforth, LA6 1AD. Near the village of Over Kellet. The Quarry has a range of depths to 21m. There is a dive shop, air and nitrox filling station and cafe on site. There are training areas and a shelf which goes to 8m and has many underwater attractions including Lord Lucan, Shergar, Thunderbird 4, Plane (Boeing) at 17m to name but a few.

Dive S80 PADI Instructors and Dive Masters will be on hand to help and assist for those wishing to Pleasure Dive. For those of you on Courses we will be doing the qualifying dives to complete your PADI Courses.

PORTHKERRIS. Dive Trip 2024

Wednesday- Saturday

2 days Boat Diving (total 4 boat dives) Thursday and Friday. Additional 3rd/4th dives are available at an extra cost and unlimited free shore diving is included.

3 nights Camping Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in tent or campervan

Diving The Manicles Reef, its Wreck and Scenic.

Cost of the Trip is expected to be £240 per Diver.

Porthkerris is located on the Lizard Peninsula, Cornwall. The Dive Center is located directly on the beach where an easy Shore Dive or two on Drawna Rock (depth 7-15m) is a must. We We will be on either of the 2 Boats which are operating a shuttle runs service for Local Dives on The Manacles. Very scenic reefs with drop off and gullies. The Manicles has claimed Ships. The most famous is The Mohegam a Victorian Steamer at a Depth of 21 meters. The Visability is good to very good. There is limited self catering accomodation. There is camping on site and electric hook up points for Camper Vans and Caravans.

There may be an additional premium for the Boat fuel on the Day if we get to go chasing the Blue Sharks.

Porthkerris Divers on Site facilities include a Dive Shop, Compressor room for air fills and Kit Store. There is also a Beech Café/Snack Bar that serves cakes, meals, breakfasts and hot drinks

You will all need 2 cylinders for the Boat which can be HIRED from DIVE S80. All proceeds from the Hire charge goes to keeping them in service and fully tested for the use of all DIVE S80 Club Members.

FARNE ISLAND Dive Trip 2024

2 Days Boat Diving with 2 Nights B&B accomodation in twin en suite room with free parking. There are a couple of double rooms available on request.

Dive S80 will charter with Soverign Dive and Skipper Andy for the 2 days diving. Cylinder Refills are available through Andy at Soverign dive center.

There are many dive sites on the Farne Islands from 4 meters to suit all dive experience levels. there are shallow reefs, drift dives and impressive wall dives

The Farne Islands are home to a colony of both Grey and common Seals with numbers around 4000 to 5000. If you've every wanted to dive with Seals then this is the Dive Trip for you. Whilst not guaranteed the Seal may interact with you. look at the videos on dives80 facebook of this year trip.
